I have just started looking at the error_log in cPanel and have some interesting messages there...

There is a reference to "/admin/file_manager.php" (which does not exist in my directory structure) and a user "lowrian" who is unknown to me. It is also trying to use sendmail which is concerning to me...

Here is a paste from MAIN error_log

[Mon Sep 24 17:48:41 2007] [error] [client 87.113.94.100] user lowrian not found: /admin/file_manager.php

Any ideas what this means?

Because Hostmonster uses a shared server environment, the main error log is a log of all errors for all accounts on the system. The errors you are seeing are not necessarily meant for your account, though I might contact support and inform them of the sendmail error.

Hope this helps alleviate some of your fears.

Excellent! Thanks!

I will worry a lot less now.

I have run into this a lot lately. Is there anyway to filter the Main error log to figure out which errors may apply to my account?

I don't believe so, but that sounds like an excellent question to ask Support. I know it sounds like a push off, but we are only mere users like you. Support would be able to better answer that question ... unless one of our other fearless users has found a way to do this ... ?

I personally don't think it is possible because we don't have access to the log configuration files on the servers.
