I setup OutLook 2000 for pop3 w/ssl and when Outlook retrieves email it pops up a certificate error;
The Server you are connected to is using a Security Certificate that could not be verified.
A Certificate chain processes correctly, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.
Do you want to continue using this server.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You might want to think about installing the root certificate into your trusted zone. It's late and I'm tired. I don't think these terms are the correct ones and I can't remember the steps to do it in Outlook, but it can be done. After doing this though, you still may run into name mismatch errors. Pure speculation on my part because I haven't tried what you are attempting yet.

From the error message (which I am also getting) it appears that the SSL cert is not trusted by the CA that issued it... This is a tad annoying and also a potential security issue.
Can an admin please verify the certificates validity back up to the CA from where is was purchased and issued?

I think the issue arises because you have a shared cert (the cert belongs to host??.hostmonster.com not yourdomain.com) If you want you own cert you have to get a dedicated IP I think it is like $45 a year then purchase a cert. This only works for the top level domain though.
