I am having problems uploading skins to my forum. After I upload them in the public_html.. is there another step? Sorry.. I'm very new to this. Thanks for the help.

You need to put them in the themes folder of your forum.

Example: public_html/forum/themes

That's just an example. Your folder could be called skin, style, etc.

I put them in a folder called styles but apparently I'm missing a step somewhere because for the life of me.. I can not get it to work. I've tried several styles/skins. The skins work but none of my buttons (new post, etc) will work.

Well, I know this thread is 9 months old, but I can't get them to work either. And they're in the right place, they're just never in the drop down menu. All I have is the first two default skins.

It would help if you told us the forum software you are using.

i asume you are using a phpbb forum, make sure that the theme can work on the version of phpbb forum you are using since when i tried to install a theme which did not support the version of the phpbb forum, it did not work.

Additionally, after uploading the theme into the proper folder, you need to log in as an administrator and activate it from the forum's control panel.
