First off, I must say that I am very happy with HostMonster service. I really can't believe the service and hosting for 5 bucks a month.
I have 8 domains hosted with HostMonster and it's great.
Now, on Domains Renewal. I can't seem to think of any good reason why not find the absulute chapest way to renew my Domain names as long as I can manage their DNS to point to HostMonster.
Once a domain is configured and locked, not much else matter or is done to it, so am I missing something here?
Why go with Company X charging $20 bucks a domain renewal while Company Y charges 7 bucks for same thing. On 10 domains, that the difference between 200 bucks and 70. Big! :)
Buying anything in a package deal saves you TONS. Most companies charge more because they offer monthly, OR they think they are fancy and can charge whatever they please, when in actual fact "the other guy" has the better pricing.

Let's get a list going of the cheapest places to go for renewals. So far for me, http://www.1and1.com seems to be the cheapest at $5.95/year for renewal.
Anyone found a better deal?
I used 1and1 in the past, cheapest I think so, but definitely the crappiest service alive. Took me 2 months for them to get back to me on why my domain wasn't active, and when it came down to it, basically 'we forgot'.
Now to this day it is still active, with no way for me to manage it because tech support says "okay sure we're sending you an email with a default password" which never arrives.

Yeah, that's bad. The thing is that once a domain DNS is setup and the account is automatically charged, as long as hosting services are not changed, you will not need to visit the company.
I can test their service by transfering one domain at a time, setting up DNS and locking it and that would be it. If I had to rely on them on a weekly or monthly basis, then yes, service would be upmost importance.
Anyone else seen cheaper domain name transfers/renewals?

I buy my domains from GoDaddy.com despite their website having nothing but horrendous advertising smeared everywhere.
When I go to renew or purchase, I do a Google search for "GoDaddy Coupons" and usually find a lot of active redemption codes to input during check-out.

All my domains are registered at either Hostmonster or Netfirms. I register my .mobi domains at APlusNet. $10 bucks a year is cheap enough. Trying to skimp a couple more bucks isn't worth losing good support.

That's my whole point. Support is very important, but for something like domain renewals which once locked and setup for auto renewal, years will go by without you having to visit that location which is keeping your domain renewals.
When you talk about 10+ domains, the different in price quickly adds up.

I have about 40 domains. I visit my registrars regularly.

Ok, i will bite.
Other than to change your DNS settings, why do you need to visit the registarts on a regular basis? I am assuming that you have the domains pointed to hostmonster or your favorite web hosting company.
This is an honest question because for me, I have 10+ and all are being hosted at HostMonster and I cannot think of any reason why I would have to go to my registars site other than the first time I setup DNS to point to hostmonster.
