I am considering buying Hostmonster
But now I have a question about Hostmonster CPU time limit

Hostmonster says they have a cpu use time limit of 40 seconds per minute for each user
I am not sure about what it means and how Hostmonster counts cpu time you have used.

If I buy Hostmonster,I may frequently need to execute some commads in SSH,For example, use "wget" to download some big files, and use "tar" to compress or uncompress some big compressed files.

As It will take very long time for these commands to execute. And I will need to use these commands very frequently
I am not sure if it is banned by Hostmonster CPU time limit.

Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

Simply put for a shared host that is an average time. You need to make sure that your scripts are optimized and clean. If you require more CPU time then a Shared enviroment is not for you. YOu will have to either have your own private server or a dedicated one.

The CPU limit is standardized time for all "shared" servers, for most hosting companies.

If your script takes longer than the 40 seconds needed from the CPU, the code needs to be seriously altered.
