Domain transfer and domain extension

Hi ,

I tried to transfer a domain to hostmonster. The transfer is free but they force me to buy extension domain for at least 1 year or else the transfer will not complete ( there are 8 month until expire date and I am not sure if I'll extend the domain ) .
Can I transfer domains for free to hostmonster and avoiding buy extension ( I don't want to extend the domains ) ?

No. In order to transfer the domain, you will have to extend it. Just keep it the domain where it is and change the name servers to point to ns1.hostmonster.com and ns2.hostmonster.com
