Secure mail using SSL certificate

I am having some problems getting my mail client to connect securely using my SSL certificate. I'm using Apple Mail, and I get the error:

Cannot send message using the server mail.<me>.com

Under 'Accounts', I have the following settings:

Server Port: 25
Use SSL: checked
Authentication: password

I can connect securely using web mail (Horde) without getting the old certificate mismatch error (before I got the SSL certificate)

Does anyone know how to get Apple Mail to work with SSL?
