help with root path server

I have send 3 open tickets in the last few days i got NO answer to my question so i will try here.:confused:

My question is....

I just make a folder (downloads)
i believe is the the server root.

I am sorry but i am a beginner so could you be so kind and confirm that?

Also could you tell me the path for that folder (downloads) because i need that to input in my cubecart.

The root folder for web pages will be /home/username/public_html - so if you've created a downloads directory under the public_html directory you'll find it at http://www.mysite.com/downloads
