How do I edit my website

I am very confused with how to upload and edit my site. I am working with Microsoft Publisher. I have uploaded my site but have found errors in the layout and want to edit it. I corrected it in Publisher but when I upload the new files all I see online is the original site that I put up. Does anyone have SIMPLE instructions for me to follow? I had always used another server for my web page which seemed more user friendly. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!

Sometimes, what gets between you and your edited website is the cache of old pages kept by your web browser. You should find out how to empty the cache and then try to view your website again to see if you were simply viewing the old, cached version instead of the new one.

its advice to use ftp client software for the uploading job.
i been using cuteftp for sometime, and these problem can be avoided.
as the software will make sure the file is uploaded and .... it does it job
