I just recently built my joomla site and I have integrated Shopping cart Guru and the combination hasent been that smooth. Joomla just doesnt have what I need so I decided I wanted to rebuild my site with Oscommerce. is it possible to build my new site while my joomla is still published and then drop the joomla and launch the Os when it is done? And how difficult is Os compared to Joomla? Thanks for the help.

it will be hard to guarantee no downtime to existing joomla site.
unless you setup at other hosting and just change DNS to new site.
setup oscommerce wont take long. do it at low peak time. :)

Build it in another folder..then put a redirect or move the folders around once it is ready.

If you move it later just be sure you don't hard code any full paths in your website.

ok So I have downloaded oscommerce several times now. I have read all the previous threads on fixing the register_globals problem. Everyone seems to have a different way of fixing it. I dont want to turn them on because I will lose security. So What I need is help on witch file to to download. I have tried several different ones but nothing seems to work. If anyone has done this PLEASE HELP me out. Thanks

now I was able to install rg fix v1.5 and I do not need to have my register_global set to on but osc still tells me that I am not protected by a ssl. Is that normal?
